That’s the kind of power walk you see in a man who’s going to slap it more than once
Most of the anti-anti-immigration advice I see on here is skewed towards the US so here’s some useful UK info I just walked past
[Image: an informational pamphlet with advice regarding the UK border agency. Transcription: What to do if you are stopped by immigration officers (UKBA).
If the UK Border Agency or police stop you in the street and ask about your immigration status:
- You DO NOT have to answer any of their questions.
- You DO NOT have to tell them your name or address.
- Tell them that you do not want to talk to them.
- Stay polite but confident.
- You can walk away.
They are not allowed to stop you because of your race. They can only stop you if they have a good reason. If they stop you just because of how you look, or the language you speak, tell them:
“This is racist.” “This is illegal.” “I will make a complaint.”
If you are detained, call Bail for Immigration Detainees (independant from us): 020 7247 3590 / antiraids.net
Transcription ends.]
[Caption: A Twitter post made by NYT Styles (New York Times Styles) reading:
“My friend has autism gets special testing accommodations. She takes exams in a private room, where she uses her notes to do better. Is that fair? And is that actually helping her?” and ending with a link to the article.
Above is a comment by another Twitter user reading: “If you have a friend like this, drop them immediately.” and then in all capitals “Accessibility isn’t special treatment.”
